Still looking at different digital cameras, and this particular model caught my eye as a decent entry model. Some features are:
--In-camera retouch menu/software
--10.2 Megapixels
--AF-S DX 18x55mm lens
--6 auto modes
So that's just a little bit about the Nikon D3000. It generally costs about $500 or less, depending on where you look for it and whether or not it's new or in an accessorized bundle package when you buy it. I just wanted to share this info since I've still been searching for a workable, affordable digital camera.

Canon Rebel Xsi user here, never tried a Nikon myself.
nice camera, it sounds so sweet
I would suggest Canon 550D (Rebel T2i), it's probably the best entry level camera, if you aren't too big on film and stuff, then definitely go for the Nikon D30, I heard lots of good things about it
